He was born on November 25, 1925 in Coshocton to the late Walter and Loraine (Groce) Klein. Walter was a WWII United States Navy Veteran serving in the Philippines. He retired from General Electric following 38 years of service as an equipment operator. Walter enjoyed traveling and fishing and was always there to lend a hand. He was an excellent teacher who taught his sons how to work on vehicles. Walter loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments. He is together again with his wife whom he was married to for 68 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen (Ryan) Klein who passed away August 14, 2013; son, David A. Klein (2013); great granddaughter, Kayla Marie Strain; brother, Carl William Klein; and a sister, Stella Archer.
Walter is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter "Chip" D. (Terri) Klein, Jr. of Coshocton; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl (Larry) Goodman of New Castle, OH; daughter-in-law, Susan Klein of Coshocton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Wayne) Everhart of Fresno, Liala (Carl) Everhart of Fresno; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services celebrating Walter's life will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Klein Warren officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Interment will take place at South Lawn Cemetery.
