Presiding Elder Vernon H. Coffman, Jr., 76, of Coshocton, Ohio, departed this life on May 18, 2015, at his residence. He was born on February 5, 1939, in Hancock, Maryland to the late Adv. Pr. Elder Vernon Coffman, Sr., and Lillian (Hensley) Coffman. Presiding Elder Coffman was born a member of The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob of the United States of America and was a minister. He was employed by the church for over 40 years in Coshocton, Ohio, as a mechanic. He had many talents. He was a professional Bus Driver for the church, and he also did upholstery work and carpentry work. He is survived by his wife: Mother Nellie Coffman, one son: Brother Jonathan (Druscilla) Coffman of Greencastle, Pa., one daughter: Madeline (William) Lonsinger of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, one sister: Mother Marcella (Charles) McFadden of Needmore, Pa., eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Adv. Pr. Elder James L. Coffman, Sr., and one sister: Mother Emma Deshong, and one grandson. Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 11:00am officiated by Bishop J. Mathias Pearson at The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob First Tabernacle. A viewing will be held at the church from 10am to 10:45am. Burial will be in Machpelah’s Burial Acres. Given Dawson Funeral Home is serving the family.
