Nancy was born on December 31st, 1947 to Marie (Fortune) and Clifford Titus in Coshocton, Ohio. One of five children, she witnessed her parents’ patience, compassion, and perseverance and sought to follow it.
Nancy graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1965. On September 3, 1967, she married Dennis Marshall. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before his death in 2013.
For many years, Nancy sold Avon in the Brightwood and Midvale areas. She saw it as a way to get to know people, but was also recognized as one of the top representatives in the area.
Nancy enjoyed drawing from a young age, later trying painting. In 1997, she began writing poems, often entering them in contests and having them published in Ohio poetry collections. She could disappear into her writing for hours and considered it a gift from God that helped her find her thoughts and share them with others.
From childhood, Nancy appreciated the simple things, such as playing with a red wagon or handmade doll, or having a game of badminton with her siblings. As a mother, she treasured heart-shaped stones and dandelions from the yard. In recent years, she liked to talk to her children and friends on the phone, play board games and watch Scooby-Doo with her grandchildren, read, and see the colors each autumn.
She is survived by her stepdaughter Karma (Ron) Burton and sons Scott (Amber) and Shane (Erin). Her stepson Kevin (Sally) passed away earlier this year. Nancy is survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and always enjoyed hearing and seeing what they were up to.
Also surviving are siblings Lois (Sam) Laughlin, Ellen McClain, and Roger (Bonnie) Titus, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Denny, stepson Kevin, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Violet Titus, brother-in-law Ron McClain, and great-granddaughter Ambreonna Sky Engler.
