Michael P. Miller, age 61, of Fresno, Ohio passed away at The Ohio State University Medical Center on Friday, June 29, 2012. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on November 13, 1950, the son of Jacob C. and Norma Jean (Lower) Miller who survive. Michael graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1968. On May 7, 1972 he married Janet Suzanne (Hartsock) Miller who survives. Michael was very devoted to his family, he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking for them, and family vacations at the beach. He had been involved in many community activities throughout his life including, 4-H advisor and Key Leader since 1970, superintendent for the Ohio National Junior Poultry Program, and assisted with the Ohio State Fair Poultry Show. Michael worked in food service for many years and owned and operated the Rooster Café in both Coshocton and Newcomerstown. Michael’s legacy lives on in his two children, Monica Ann Miller and family of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Joshua J. Miller and family of Fresno, Ohio. He is also survived by one brother, Mitch Miller; and daughters at heart, Nicole Miller and Melissa Miller. Michael is preceded in death by an infant grandson, Brayden Michael Miller. A gathering of family and friends will take place at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 5-8:00PM and on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5-7:00PM. A celebration of Michael’s life will take place in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral home on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 7:00PM with Pastor Mary Owen officiating.
