Katha Muriel Newell

Katha graduated from Coshocton High School and worked for Murphy Mart, Marilyn’s Naturals Food and James Plumbing. On June 8, 1965, she married David Newell who preceded her in death on February 28, 2021.

She was a member of the Emmanual Lutheran Church in Coshocton and enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. She spent many years bowling and met lots of good friends over the years. Katha loved life! She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katha is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (John) Larntz and Rebecca Newell, both of Coshocton. Nine grandchildren, Amber, Jeffrey, Joseph, George, Stephen, Stephanie, James, Mystic and Samantha; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Philip (Dixie) Scharon of New Mexico and her sister-in-law, Rene Scharon.

Along with her parents and husband, Katha was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Newell, daughter-in-law, Joy Newell and her brother, Greg Scharon.

Per Katha’s wishes a cremation will take place. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
