Florence K. Van Sickle, age 88 of Coshocton, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Morrison House in Zanesville. She was born on October 3, 1926 in Adamsville, Ohio to the late William and Laurena (Thresh) Wohlheter. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. Florence will be remembered for her sense of humor, and being the “center of attention”. On Sunday she was known for reading from the Guidepost and telling a joke as well during the morning worship service. In addition, she enjoyed reading, flowers and her soap operas. If there was a phone call made during some of her favorite Soaps such as, The Guiding Light, General Hospital or One Life to Live, she would not answer. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and loved her church family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Van Sickle, who passed away in 1974; brothers, Eugene, Gerald, Donald and Carl Wohlheter; sister, Margaret Ruth House and a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Van Sickle.
Florence is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Beverly (David) Ramsey, Patricia (Terry) Darr, Kathleen Van Sickle, Janice (David) Guilliams, Mary (Tom) Penny; grandchildren, Shane (Samantha) Guilliams, Sonia (Eric) Burrage, Chad Darr, Lisa (Chris) Wahl, Tammy (Kenny) James, Tracey (Dennis) Johnson, Christina (Jeremy) Mills, Melissa (Nick) Hammersley; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Paul Wohlheter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating Florence’s life will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastors John Gray and Dan Swanson officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Interment will take place following the services at Zion Cemetery in Adamsville.
