David Joseph Countryman, 76, of Coshocton, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born June 21, 1941 to the late Albert Clarence and Mary Ellen (Newell) Countryman in Linton Township. On July 26, 1963, he married Hazel (Wolfe) Countryman. He retired from Edie Ryan’s Family Restaurant. At a young age, he volunteered for the Ohio Defense Core, was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Moose.
He is survived by his children, John (Lisa) Countryman of Coshocton, Mary Ann Countryman of Coshocton and Melissa Marie Countryman of Coshocton; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren as well as a sister, Daisy Countryman Dohm Dogma or Uhrichsville, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by son, Michael Joseph Countryman; sisters, Virginia Powell, Gladis McKnight, June Kiser, Sandy Pettitt, Alberta G. Countryman and Sarah E. Countryman and brothers, Richard Countryman, James M. Countryman, William C. Countryman and John D. Countryman.
Calling hours will begin at the Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home from 2pm – 5pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The funeral service will take place a 5pm at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Braxton officiating.
