Betty Jo Holmes

Betty Jo graduated from Coshocton High School in 1953, where she was a Majorette and Homecoming Attendant. She worked for Fairmont Foods and later Edmonts for over 30 years before retiring.

She was a member of New Life Ministries; was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes Marching Band. Betty Jo was very generous, caring and kind; she loved her family more than anything.

She is survived by her two children, Vernanne (Gary) Grace of West Lafayette and Mike (April) Holmes of Dresden; three grandchildren, Chad Zimmer, Jamie (Scott) Shryrock and Joseph (Tori) Holmes; three great-grandchildren, Zack and Caden Zimmer and Carter Holmes; along with several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Betty Jo is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Holmes and her sister, Judy (Dick) Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 12:00 pm at New Life Ministries with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
