He graduated from West Lafayette High School, class of 1960. Bernard proudly served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 and on November 27, 1965, he married Faye (Johnson) Maple who survives.
Bernard worked as a Millwright for Stone Container for 35 years before retiring. He was a long time member of the Coshocton Church of the Nazarene and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Faye Maple; two children Bernard “Bernie” (Polly) Maple of West Lafayette and Marcia (Frank) Price of Canal Winchester; three grandchildren, Emily Maple, Gracie Price and Vincent Price; one brother, William “Bill” (Melody) Maple of West Lafayette; one sister-in-law, Cheryl Maple; one brother-in-law, Avery Dotson of Plainfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bernard is preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Hardy and Maxine Dotson and four brothers, Nathan, Harold Dean, Sam and Jesse Maple.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery with the Coshocton County Veterans Council conducting Military Honors.
