Alice M. Beall, 92, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away after a battle with renal disease on Monday, October 27, 2014, at Autumn Health Care of Zanesville, Ohio. She was born on March 27, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Dora (Leavengood) Brown of Keene, Ohio.
Alice graduated from Keene High School and worked at the former McCabe Grocery in Canal Lewisville before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and the DAV, and VFW auxiliaries. She enjoyed watching Ohio State sports, NASCAR, and also enjoyed playing bingo.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Beall, whom she married on March 28, 1942, and who passed away in 2003: her sister Helen Fetters, and brothers Clifford Brown and Francis Brown.
Alice is survived by her daughters: Nancy (Paul) Ledford of Midland, Ohio, Dorcas (Tom) Winberg of Baltimore, Ohio, Cathy (Jon) Borror of Etna, Ohio, and one son: James (Maryanne) Beall of Massillon, Ohio. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 9:30am to 11:00am at Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am in the sanctuary of the church with Rev. Jeremy Roseberry and Rev. Don Dolick officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff of Zanesville Autumn Health Care and the staff of Genesis Hospice in Zanesville for the excellent care and compassion that she received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Genesis Hospice or to Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church.
