Alberta Rogers

She graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1949, and attended Cosmetology School. On February 8, 1953, she married Victor Rogers who preceded her in death on July 9, 2010. Alberta was a member of the Coshocton Alliance Church; enjoyed traveling with her husband to watch area bands, shopping, going to the Coshocton Gun Club, but most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Rogers Newman of Coshocton; five grandchildren, William Robert (Shana Lanier) Varner of Denton, NC, Sarah Victoria Varner of Fresno, Nathan Christopher Newman of Columbus, Josh (Heather Fuller) Newman of Coshocton, and Hannah Faith (Luis) Newman-Juarbe of Coshocton; eight grandchildren, William, Nick, Hunter, Haley, Alyssa, Drake, Jake, and Claire; nephew, Bruce W. Barrick of West Lafayette; brother and sister-in-law, Luther and Phyllis House; cousin, Jim Rogers; family friends, Shari Valentine and Doug Varner; several foster children over the years; and two dogs, Maggie Mae and Millie Mae.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at 11:00 am at Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bilsza officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
