Virginia S. Ortiz

Virginia Saldaña Ortiz, 85, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away May 17, 2021. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 20, 1935. Virginia graduated from Roy Miller High School and received her License in Vocational Nursing from Del Mar College. She went on to marry Raul Ortiz Jr. on March 3, 1957.

Virginia had a career in Nursing for 35 years at Physicians & Surgeons Hospital. She was the co-owner of Roy’s Propeller and Machine. She also worked for Maxim Home Health. Virginia was a member of Solid Rock Church. She will be remembered for her passion for Nursing, sewing, and reading.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Raul Ortiz Jr.

Virginia leaves her loving memories to her children, Edward Ortiz, Christopher Ortiz, Norma J. Helsten, and Erika Ann Rubalcava; her grandchildren, Edward Ortiz Jr., Brian Edmund Ortiz, Carlo Luis Helsten, Liam Dooley, Adrian Rubalcava, Cara Anna Galloway, Adam Ortiz, and Christian Ortiz; her great-grandchildren, Gian Carlo Helsten, Rose Milea Helsten, Kade Rubalcava, Kanyon Rubalcava, and Henry Brian Ortiz; and her siblings, Frank Saldaña, Lucy Edwards, and Alice Guerrero.

Funeral Arrangements will be held, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Public Visitation beginning at 9:00 am, Holy Rosary at 9:30 am, Funeral Service at 10:00 am, and Interment at 11:00 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Those with the honor of being a pallbearer are as follows: Edward Ortiz Jr., Brian Edmond Ortiz, Angel Rubalcava, Adrian Rubalcava, Carlo Luis Helsten, and Liam Dooley.
