Velma Alaniz DeLeon

She married Johnny M. DeLeon, Jr. on September 11, 1993.

Velma worked at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church under the direction of Monsignor Roger. She was a devout member of St. Patrick’s Church. She had a passion for caring for her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Delia Alaniz; father, Victor Alaniz and brother, Armando Alaniz.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny DeLeon; children, Justine DeLeon, Alyssa DeLeon, John-Hector DeLeon and Taylor DeLeon. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Greyson Salinas and Julian Serbin.

A memorial visitation for Velma will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM that same evening. A memorial service will occur Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. An inurnment will follow at 11:15 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
