Una Eva Peterson, loving mother and grandma passed away on April 22, 2015. She lived a full life for 96 years, the last 10, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Una was born on November 20, 1918, in Wausau, Florida to Sanders and Viola Davis who lived on and worked the family farm.
Una married the love of her life, Arthur “Pete” Peterson on January 1, 1945. Pete was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps and it took him all of 6 weeks to convince Una to be his bride for life. They spent 25 happy years together moving from station to station in the service. As the children came and the family grew, Una faithfully moved with Pete to Alabama, Germany, Wyoming, Delaware, Virginia and New York. After 25 years in service, Pete and Una finally retired in McAllen, Texas. Pete visited McAllen one beautiful, sunny February day and felt certain that was the perfect place for them to settle down. Una loved to garden and wherever they lived, she grew beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables for her family. Una was a wonderful homemaker, cooking fabulous meals for their 4 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete (1969) and daughter Harriet Olivia (1955). Una was the loving mother of Art Peterson (Terri), Corpus Christi, Texas, Judy Hamilton, Tomball, Texas, Michael Peterson (Shelly), Cleveland, Texas, and five grandchildren.
