Tina was born on October 17, 1971, to Renee and Alvino Cavazos Jr. She grew up in the Corpus Christi area with her parents and two younger brothers, Alvino Cavazos III, and Raymond Cavazos. She graduated from Calallen High School in 1990 and soon after met the love of her life, Reynaldo Macias Jr.
Tina and Rey were married on January 28, 1995. Tina gave birth to their first daughter Magen later that year. In 1998 Tina gave birth to their second daughter Caitlin. Tina’s greatest ambition in life was to be a wife and mother, she was incredibly passionate about her family, and surpassed all expectations anyone had about being a stay-at-home mom. Tina loved her family unconditionally and constantly worked to care for and provide for them. Tina constantly referred to her two daughters as her “Pride and Joy”, and she lit up with warmth whenever she had the pleasure of gushing about her two girls. She was a mother before anything else, choosing to stay home and be a constant loving presence in their house. She would volunteer or work part-time at her daughter’s elementary school, she always volunteered to be team mom for their extracurriculars and was someone they knew they could count on. As her children grew, Tina chose to grow and have different part-time jobs, eventually choosing to be a provider for her younger cousin Allison. Nevertheless, Tina was always a close confidant and strong supporter of her two daughters, constantly encouraging them to live their dreams while simultaneously keeping them grounded and humble with her incredible humor and honesty.
While Tina cared for and provided a happy home for her family, she thoroughly enjoyed sports. Her younger brothers, Al and Raymond, were very talented in football and baseball, and she constantly cheered them on and supported them both on and off the field. Tina was a sports fanatic and would often rival commentators with her astute sports predictions and opinions. Tina also enjoyed cooking and reading, often carrying her kindle around to get a couple of chapters in during her free time. Tina was also known for her large dinner portions, frequently sending parcels of scrumptious food to her extended friends and family; people would often reach out and ask when she would make a particular dish, as she made all her food with love, which is why it was so delicious. More than anything, Tina enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, whether it was visiting her two nephews Cage Cavazos (son of Al and Whitney), or Luke Cavazos (son of Raymond and Katie), spending holidays with her in-laws Guadalupe Mejias, Rebecca and Jaime Puente with niece Elizabeth, going shopping with her two daughters or meeting close friend for lunch. Tina was happiest when she was around the people she loved.
Tina was preceded in death by her mother Renee Cavazos.
Tina is survived by her loving husband Reynaldo, their two daughters Magen and Caitlin Macias; Her father Alvino Cavazos Jr, two brothers Alvino and Raymond Cavazos, and their extended families.
Tina is a beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. While her time on earth feels too short, we were truly blessed to be touched by her presence and we understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts far exceeds the quantity of time that she was here with us. We will love and miss her always, and she will live forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. To send your condolences or flowers to the family, please contact Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
