Sylvia Cano Perez 55, got her wings on Saturday, May 22, 2010, her final days on earth were at home surrounded by her husband, family and friends. She was born on May 11, 1955 to Martin and Anselma Cano in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Lou Robles, Gloria Cano and Janie Guerra; 2 infant brothers and nephew, Jonathan Tezcucano; and her father-in-law, Juan Perez.
She is survived by her loving husband Felipe Perez; daughters, Anneliese Perez of Corpus Christi and Lisa Perez of Harlingen, Texas; sons, Andres Chapa of Corpus Christi and Adam (Nilda) Perez of Rio Hondo, Texas; brothers, Martin Cano and Davi Cano of Corpus Christi, Walter (Norma) Cano of Bellville, Texas, Ruben (Julie) Cano and Ramon Cano both of Houston, Texas; sisters, Frances Perales of Houston, Texas, Margaret Tezcucano of Kilgore, Texas, Josie (Tony) Ventura of Tomball, Texas, Ester Pulido and Estella (Ruben) Elizalde of Corpus Christi, Texas; mother-in-law, Graciela Perez; brothers-in-law, Juan (Tommie) Perez, Joe (Blanche) Perez, Raymundo (Lorena) Perez, Robert (Gina) Perez; sisters-in-law, Mary Helen (Robert) Ortiz, Adelina (Pablo) Diaz, Gracie (Frank) Casiano, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia can best be described as a Lover of God, she gave him Glory and Praise and accepted her fate. She was a beautiful, beloved and dedicated wife, a mother who cherished the gifts from God, her children; a sister and friend who gave of her time, love and support. For six and a half years she fought a battle with breast cancer and never gave up hope. She thanked God everyday for each moment she could spread his word. There were no strangers in her life only new friends. She spent everyday of her life filling it with love and laughter.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Sunday, May 23, 2010 with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 24, 2010 also at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Pastor Steve Coronado Sr. to officiate. Interment services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Dr. Salloum and staff for their loving care and Dr. Dugan for his generosity.
