It is believed to be caused by dancing often with her partner in crime Ramiro Chavez, her companion of 13 years, carrying her bags of coins to penny slots and staying up all night ordering items from Publisher’s Clearing House hoping that one day someone with a Giant Check would be knocking on her front door. Her sense of humor and infectious smile brought joy to all she met. Always seeing the Glass as Half Full. We learned from Sylvia her optimistic view of life, her smile and strong devotion to her Catholic Faith. Sylvia’s unwavering bond to her sister Aida Rangel. Sylvia grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated Roy Miller High School.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Amadeo V. Gutierrez, parents Cecilio and Refugia Marin, and her beloved sister Aida Rangel (Juan S. Rangel).
Sylvia is survived by her daughter Sandra Gutierrez Miranda of Corpus Christi, Texas, her adoptive daughter Samantha Gutierrez of Houston, Texas, sons Armando (Linda) Gutierrez of Victoria, Texas, Albert (Laura) Gutierrez of Galveston, Texas and Alfred Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Sylvia was a Grandmother to Melissa (Rene), Amanda, Michael (Adrian). Great Grandmother to Andrew (Papo), Alyssa, Dylan, Michael, Mykayla, Markus, and Anthony. Great-great Grandmother to Emerald.
