Susan “Mouse” Sosa, 69, returned to her heavenly home on February 20, 2017 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Her devotion to her country, family and her firm belief in God supported her with her struggle and ultimately gave peace.
Susan was born to the late Donald and Callie Gross, a World War II Army Silver Recipient and a World War II Marine respectively, in Oakland, CA on November 29, 1947. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. Susan graduated from Great Falls High School of Montana in 1965 and later joined the U.S. Marines and Army Reserve, where she served our country for over 20 years.
Susan was blessed with a large and loving family. In 1971, Susan married her late husband, Thomas Wells, a veteran in the U.S. Air Force, and were married over 30 years. They had two children, Michael and Jean Marie. After the death of Thomas, she later married Rudolph Sosa Jr. a Marine and Army Veteran, in 2005. Susan embraced his six children with love, discipline and humility. Her children and step-children, blessed her with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She demonstrated an extreme love for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Susan was an educator of many skills at heart. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator.
Susan is survived by her husband, Rudolph Sosa, Jr.; her sons, Michael Wells, Edward Ramirez, Mario, Joshua, and Jonathan Sosa; her daughters, Jean Marie (Wells) Shah, Marina Sosa-Herrera and Melissa (Sosa) Gonzalez; her 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Hurlock.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Wells; her parents, Donald and Callie Gross.
