Shirley Jean Boyd

Shirley Jean Boyd, age 84, of Little Elm, Texas passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Shirley was born on August 29th, 1937 to Adelene & Gove Leroy Clifton Jr. in Brighton, AL. She was raised in Navasota, TX until her teenage years when the family relocated to Corpus Christi, TX.

She graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1955. She married her husband of 51 years on June 4th, 1964. Shirley was a long-time employee with the Flour Bluff School district where she served as a paraprofessional in many capacities.

She will always be remembered for her radiating smile and the ability to bring joy to those around her. She was a woman of faith and loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition, she is known as one of the founders of Little Miss Kickball, organizing a sport that today thousands of young girls play across the state of Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Boyd, daughter Cheri Boyd, parents Adelene & Gove Leroy Clifton Jr, and her siblings Gove Leroy Clifton III, June Ely, and Paulette Rains.

She is survived by her six children (Billy & Bobbie Boyd, Steve & Kim Boyd, Bruce & Dawn Boyd, Michelle & Roger Mortensen, Michael Boyd, Lori Boyd), nineteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Families are Forever

A visitation for Shirley will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411. Funeral service Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6630 Wooldridge Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78414, followed by Interment on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.
