Sharon Denise Jorgensen Bearden passed away at the age of 70 at her home with her loving husband by her side on September 8, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 15, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joyce Heimann and Robert Jorgensen.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Don Bearden, Jr. daughters, Tamara Snover and Selena Walker; brothers, Robert Jorgensen and Thomas Jorgensen; sister, Lynda Elliott; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of extended family and friends.
Sharon was an avid lover of animals. She earned a degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Marine Biology in 1996. After graduation, she joined the Peace Corp and served in the Philippines teaching mangrove conservation and fish farming. Additionally, she was a volunteer for the Red Cross serving in disaster relief management.
Sharon was adventurous and loved to travel. Although she traveled to many countries, her favorite trips were to Israel and France.
She found comfort in her faith and was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was a member of the Guadalupana.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Memorial Mass to begin at 10:30 a.m. Services will conclude at the Church.
In celebration of a life so beautifully lived, family and friends are invited to attend a lunch reception in Parish Hall to enjoy Sharon’s favorite food and share special memories of her immediately following the Funeral Memorial Mass.
