Saturnino G Holmes

Saturnino G. Holmes passed away on April 28, 2021. Known by friends and family as “Nino” he was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. He graduated from Miller High School in 1971 and worked at the Corpus Christi State School for some time and went on to work for the City of Corpus Christi where he later retired after 35 years. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Nino was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Vidaurri and Duncan Holmes; his brother, Benito Vidaure and his son, Rene S. Holmes.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Holmes; his children, Jose A. Alaniz, Veronica Alaniz, and Monica M. Flores; his sisters, Coral (Jaime) Gonzalez, Patricia Garcia, Flora Holmes, Rosita Vidaurre and his brothers, Gonzalo (Mary Ann) Holmes and William Holmes. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel-Cheyenne, 549 Cheyenne St., on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 pm. Services conclude afterwards.
