Santos Galvan Jr. was born on December 25, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas. God called him home on December 12, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Santos proudly served in the United States Army, and was a Vietnam War Veteran; he retired from the Naval Base in 2011. Santos married his beloved wife, Refugia Lopez Galvan on June 1, 1973.
Santos was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was known as a very intelligent, knowledgeable, and handy man. He would fix cars and was known as a master of many trades. His younger adult-self had a love for cars and fast driving. Santos also loved fishing and hunting. No matter what stage in life you met him in, he was always a character and left his impression on everyone.
Santos is reunited with his parents, Santos and Elvira Galvan; sister, Corina; and grandson, Eric Anthony Galvan. Among those left to cherish Santos’ memory are his beloved wife, Refugia Lopez Galvan; son, Eric Lopez Galvan (Jessica); daughter, Amy Lopez Galvan; brother, Eduardo S. Galvan; sisters, Cythina Galvan and Patricia G. Garza (Leonel); grandchildren, Christopher Roel Villareal, Kristian Dillion Villareal, and Chloe Ann Galvan; great-grandson, Kaiden Galvan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary to be recited that same night at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, followed by the Rite of Committal and Interment with Final Military Honors at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
