He was employed at H. E. Butt Bakery Plant for 28 years plus of dedicated service. He was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. His two sons were his world. Those who came to know him knew that he was caring, honest, loving and a sharing person who was willing to do anything for his family and friends. Rudy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching America’s team, “The Dallas Cowboys”, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Lakers and Moody Magic Baseball. Along with this, he enjoyed fishing, dancing, and playing softball but especially barbequing for his family. On April 14, 2011 he attended the ACTS Retreat in la Iglesia De San Juan, where he encompassed a deeper foundation with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To our brother in Christ, we will miss you and we will cherish all our memories in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jose and Delfina Valenzuela; maternal grandmother, Maria P. Piña and niece Jeanmarie Torres.
Rudy leaves his memories to be cherished by his parents, Rudy F.and Guadalupe Valenzuela; five sons, Rudy L. Valenzuela, Jr. (Tanya Ramirez), James Michael Valenzuela, Randy Vera, Saul Vera and Salome Vera, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Samantha Nuñez of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren, Angelique Vera, Serenity Nuñez, Ariana Perez and Jordan Cantu. Also surviving one brother, Gary Arnold (Ana) Valenzuela of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Anna Liza Salgado (Frank Martinez, Jr.) and Jean Marie Torres, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers honoring him will be James Valenzuela, Gary Valenzuela, Ramiro Vega III, Eloy Torres, Roland Capetillo, Lorenzo Gomez, Daniel M. Peña and Rodney Flores.
