Romana M. Pena

Romana M. Pena, 76, passed away on June 23, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 26, 1936 in Da Costa, Texas to Pedro and Petra Martinez. Romana was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Pena; parents, Pedro and Petra Martinez; granddaughter, Sereena Lyzz Saiz; sister, Maria Lucio; brothers, Jesus Martinez, Geronimo Martinez and Manuel Martinez.

Romana left behind to cherish her memories her daughters, Martha Vasquez, Pauline Vela, Mariana (Enrique Jr.) Pantoja, from Corpus Christi, Texas, Patty (Edward Jr.) Saiz from Houston, Texas; sister, Candelaria (Antonio) Salas from Lubbock, Texas; brother, Domingo Martinez. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited 7:00 pm that evening. Rites of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Edward Saiz Jr., Tony Ledesma, Paul Rives Jr., Alfred Navejar, Enrique Pantoja Jr., and Barry Chapa.
