Roberto H. Rodriguez, age 67, passed away January 10, 2016. He was born September 9, 1948 to Benito and Paula Rodriguez in Driscoll, Texas where he was raised and lived most of his life. He graduated from Bishop High School in 1968 and enlisted in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War, in which he served two tours. Roberto was employed by Mobil Oil for 23 years as a construction foreman. He was a loving father, son, brother, cousin and friend. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generosity, love and devotion to family and making others laugh.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents Benito and Paula Rodriguez, his brothers, Benito Jr., Santiago, Jose and granddaughter, Desiree Medina. Roberto is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Alicia, children, Armando (Adriana) Caceres, Jr., Annette Andrade, Aileen (Albert) Segura, Laura (Michael Chavez) Luna, and Denise (James Guerra) Rodriguez all of Corpus Christi, Texas; his brothers, Benito Rodriguez and Noe Rodriguez; sisters, Noelia Landin and Luisa Olvera; his daughter in Christ, Candice Chapa of Baytown, Texas, 19 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 14, 2016 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 12:00 Noon at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mario Landin, Benito Rodriguez, Gabriel Torres, Eric Caceres, Christopher Alcocer and Evan Elizaldi. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Caceres and Roberto Caceres.
The family would like to thank Valerie Vega, RN, Belinda Martinez, Deacon David Castillo and all the Altus Hospice team for their devotion and care of Roberto and his family.
