Robert “Bob” R. Riley Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Bob passed away on September 14, 2017. He was born on March 3, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Alma Connair Riley. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII as a pilot. While stationed in Corpus Christi, he met Joyce, a beautiful red head, and the love of his life, and they were happily married 72 years. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Denver. Bob retired after a long career with Centex Cement Corporation where he was Lab Director, Plant Manager and Vice President of Production. Everyone knew him as a man of integrity, dependability and honesty. He was devoted to his church and family. He was also an active member of the Board of Trade for the Port of Corpus Christi. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, sister and son, Michael William Riley. He is survived by his wife Ruth Joyce Brymer Riley; four daughters, Mary Patricia (Hardy) Cruse, Linda (John) McGowan, Margaret (David) Farley and Kathleen (Ron) Stephens; one son, Joe (Leslie) Riley; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Roland Grim, for his gentle devoted care, Vito Drozdowski his physical therapist, and Nurses on Wheels. Visitation will be held at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
