Richard Vallejo Reyes, 70 years old, was born October 15, 1950 in Weslaco, TX. He gained his wings on December 22, 2020 at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston,TX. He was raised in Corpus Christi, TX, and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1969 and was a member of the parish council at Christ the King Catholic Church. After 45 years, Richard retired from Coastal States/Valero Bill Greehey Refinery.
He was a loving husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, friend and dog lover. Richard was a plumber, an electrician, a welder, a coach and a mechanic, he was a man of many traits. He had many hobbies, such as, playing pool, baseball, barbequing, hunting/fishing, making rosaries/belt buckles/bracelets and many other things. He enjoyed watching all sports and played softball for many years. He also enjoyed helping and guiding others through life's journeys. But, most of all, he loved being able to pass down his life skills that he learned over the years to everyone, especially his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being able to share his knowledge and skills was something he really enjoyed and took pride in.
Richard was a stern, loving, humble, humorous man and strong in his faith. He had pride in himself and in his family, he was the definition of strength. After nine years of a courageous journey with cancer, our heavenly father called his faithful servant home. Through it all he kept God #1 in his heart and his faith remained stronger than ever. He has impacted many people's lives and he was always there for anyone whenever his help was needed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
