Rene B. Vasquez

Rene B. Vasquez, 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2021. He was born in Benavides, Texas on January 10, 1935 and graduated from Benavides High School. He married Elfida Vasquez in 1970.

Rene proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1953 to 1963 and worked for the Corpus Christi Gas Division. He retired in 2002.

He had a passion for cooking, baking and loved to hang out and talk to his neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo and Leonila Vasquez; brothers, Roel Vasquez, Raul Vasquez and Rodolfo Vasquez; baby Rita Vasquez and baby Rene Vasquez.

He is survived by his children, Rina Vasquez, Ruby Guzman, Robin (Allie) Martin, Ronda (Glenn) Rodgers, Robert (Bertha) Guzman, Richard Guzman, Joshua Guzman, Eddie Vasquez, Pilar Roach, Carlos (Maria) Vasquez, Maria Vasquez, and Albert Vasquez. He is also survived by his brother, Raymundo Vasquez. He will be lovingly missed by his 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held for Rene on Saturday, December 18, 2021 beginning at 12:30 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road in Corpus Christi. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
