Rene Salazar

Rene Salazar went to be with his Lord on February, 12, 2011 at the age of 50. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX to Pedro and Antonia Salazar on October 6, 1960.

Rene was a loving son who was dedicated to taking care of his mother, and who in return took care of him also. He had a great love for animals, especially cats and dogs. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Salazar. He is survived by his mother, Antonia Salazar; his children, Erica Amador and Joaquin Mireles; his step-brother, Raul Torres and his wife, Dee; cousins, Nelda Benavides and her husband, Tano and numerous other family members and friends.

Rene’s family would like to give a special thanks to their good neighbors, Javier and Elsa who were always looking out for them and also Rene’s good friend of 26 years, Roberto Jauregui, for being the best friend that Rene could have had.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly on Wednesday, February, 16, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Nuestra Senora De San Juan de Los Lagos Catholic Church, 1755 Frio St on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:00 am. Inurnment for Rene will take place at a later date at Rosehill Memorial Park.
