Rene Pena

Rene is remembered for his generosity, compassion and love of others. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He brought all of us together with his cooking and barbequing. He also loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and kayaking. He was known by his close friends as 'Razor'. Rene was a dedicated employee of H.E.B for 30 years. He was a graduate of W.B. Ray High School. Rene will be missed by all of us and will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Antonio Alaniz and Ester Vega and his paternal grandparents, Arnulfo Pena and Maria Santellan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Adela, daughters Amanda, Christina, and Ashley (Eric Coronado); grandchildren, Caleb and Cadence; parents, Jose and Eufemia Pena; sister, Gracie (Ernest Herrera); brother, Joe Luis (Grace), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army in Corpus Christi, Texas.
