In high school he played football, baseball, ran track, participated in F.F.A. and shop class. Ramiro was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War at age 21. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and received many decorations during his time in the military. He received the Purple Heart award after sustaining injuries during battle.
Ramiro met his wife, Yolanda Dominguez in 2011. They married June 25, 2019 after an 8-year courtship. In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Ramiro worked as an aircraft mechanic and also loved hunting, fishing, and dancing.
Ramiro joins his parents, his sister, Adelaida Munoz, his first wife, Hortencia Garza and son, Jerardo Garza in Heaven. He is survived by wife, Yolanda Garza; children, Jaime Garza (Priscilla), Emily Bentley (Craig), and Jason Garza; grandchildren, Tiffany Leal, Jordan Garza, Jenna Franklin, Jalen Garza, Ty Franklin, Alexus Garza and Barbie Vasquez. He also leaves behind to cherish his memories his brothers, Crisoforo Garza (Celeste) and David Garza (Aracelia); sisters, Alicia Garay and Noelia Mendez.
Visitation will be held from on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Chapel Service will begin at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
