On Saturday, February 15, 2020, Ralph Garcia passed away of cancer at the age of 62 in Sugarland, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 14, 1957 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Raul G. Garcia and Emma H. Garcia.
He attended school in Corpus Christi, graduated from Mary Carrol High School, and attended Del Mar College. He retired from the Corpus Christi Police Department in 2003 after 28 years of service.
Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother; he loved all his family and friends. He coached both of his son’s baseball at Southside Youth League, and he also coached football at CCYFL.
Ralph was an avid attendee of Moody High School Baseball Team. Even though ill, his passion was rebuilding cars. He always made time to attend all his grandchildren’s football games, running events, and school activities. As he traveled with his family, he enjoyed listening to all genres of music, especially Tejano.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raul G. Garcia and his mother, Emma H. Garcia.
Ralph will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Imelda Vasquez Garcia and his children, Natalie Guerra (Gabriel), Ralph Garcia (Laura), Randy Garcia (Mariah), and Daniel Garcia (Ashley). Ralph will also be fondly remembered by his thirteen grandchildren, Francisco Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Elijah Guerra, Julianna Guerra; Bianca Garcia, Belinda Garcia, Arnold Garcia, Imelda Garcia and Ralph Garcia III; Mercedes Garcia, Randy Garcia Jr., Rome Garcia; and Kennedy Garcia.
He is survived by his sisters, Yolanda Hernandez and Grace Canales (Raul) both of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, Raul Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; Rudy Garcia (Rosario) of Dallas, Texas; Raymond Garcia (Marcie) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services for Ralph H. Garcia will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
