Raj graduated from Baylor University, Waco Texas with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He met the love of his life, Rosalva Rodriguez Advaney in Corpus Christi and they were married in 1994. He worked for the State of Texas in the Department of Health and Human Services for over 18 years until his retirement in 2024.
Raj had a great love for music and could play the guitar and piano. Because he did not have a piano of his own, when available, he would play the pianos in the practice rooms at Del Mar College. Each morning, Raj would drive his cherished 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis to one of the local Whataburger Restaurants for breakfast. He also enjoyed quiet time, reading, and his “fur-babies”, Cookie, Chance, and Lucky.
Raj is preceded in death by his parents, Bhagwan and Eunice Advaney; and brother-in-law, James Dempsy Speer.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Rosalva Advaney; step-children, Jose A. (Tamara) Correa, Shannon (Carlos) Canales, and Paul Mathew (Melissa) Correa; sister, Diana Speer; nieces, Sheila Speer, and Tara Speer; and numerous grandchildren.
A Memorial Visitation will be held
