Petra Peña

Petra Peña (RN, BSN) passed away on May 3, 2017 at the age of 72. She was born on March 25, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX to the late Leonardo and Paula Hernandez. She graduated from Corpus Christi State University. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Angelita, Janie and Pablo. Petra is survived by her loving husband, Gregorio Peña Jr.; daughters, Diana (Julian Sr.) Gaona, Irma (Hector) Perez and Irene (Joe Sr.) Gonzales; grandchildren, Hector Jr. and Kim Perez, Monica, Jacob, Joseph and Joshua Gonzales, Juliana and Julian Jr. Gaona. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosa, Pete and Gracie along with numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm that same evening. Chapel services will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Corpus Christi Heart Hospital-Bay Area ER, ICU and 4th floor doctors, nurses and staff.
