Patsy Jane West (Isaac-McAlister-Rought) of Portland, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2021, at the age of 92. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 4, 1929, to Basil Lyndhurst “Badge” and Catherine Jane Isaac (Baugh). She was a loving mother, spouse, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many people. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Patsy lived in the Corpus Christi area for 85+ years. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School, Draughon’s Business College, and Del Mar College. She had a successful career in secretarial, office management, and administrative assistant roles for several local companies. She retired from Reynolds Metals Co with 25+ years of service. She loved her pets, dancing, and both attending and watching team sports, especially high school football. She spent her free time listening to country music, playing bingo, cards, dominos, and other board games. She enjoyed travel throughout the US in an RV to participate in parades, events, and tourist destinations with friends and family. She was a lifetime member of the Daughters of the Nile and Red Hat Society and volunteered to support the many activities for the Al Amin Shrine Temple, especially the clown unit.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Basil Lyndhurst "Badge" and Catherine Jane Isaac (Baugh); half-brother, J. C. Heath; son, Charles Lyn Levitz; daughter, Janie Gail Hale (McAlister-Kahl); and husbands, Paul C. Rought and J.D. West. She leaves loving memories for her sister, Dora Coleen Stephens of Corpus Christi, TX; her son, Kenneth “Kenny” McAlister wife Hedy of Plano, TX; step-son, Randy Rought and wife Bonnie of Elizabeth, Colorado; first husband, Duane McAlister of Robstown, TX; grandchildren, Evelyn (Hank) McAlister-Martin, Maegan (Mark) Pollack, Carrie (Kenneth) Purdy, Jennifer (Vince) Robinson, Chris (Cari) Kahl and Tamara Soucy; along with eleven great-grandchildren, one niece, and several nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, October 16, 2021 beginning at 1:00 pm for Public Visitation, Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
Those with the honor of serving as a pallbearer are: Mark Pollack, Bob Kahl, Chris Kahl, Christian Kahl, Ronnie Stephens, and David McCarley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Patsy’s name to the SPCA of Texas.
Patsy enjoyed color; please honor her memory by wearing something bright to her service.
