Odessa Green Smith

Odessa Green Smith, 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas transitioned and graduated to Glory on June 22, 2019. She was born in Yorktown, Texas on March 19, 1933 to Thomas and Lillian Kay Green. Odessa attended Freeland School in Yorktown. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Joseph Smith on September 19, 1951. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She was a member of Providence Church of God in Christ and had a passion for the church, shopping, cooking and being an example of ministry and love of Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Joseph Smith; son, James Smith; four brothers and five sisters. Odessa is survived by her children, Joseph Eddie Smith, Willie Andrew Smith, Katherine (Terry) Howard and daughter-in-law, Bettye Smith; sister, Verna Green; Grandchildren, Ranard Smith, Katrina Buchanan, Keith Smith, Tamara Smith, Chris (Kristi) Smith, Tameka Smith, Jacob Smith & Andrea Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Wake at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at 1:00 pm with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Calvary First Baptist Church, 2906 Carver Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
