Octavio B. Garcia Jr. “O.B.” (age 57) passed away on May 27, 2016. He was 57 years old. He was born on August 26, 1958 to Octavio B. Garcia Sr. and Viola G. Garcia in Alice, Texas. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1976. He was married to his wife for 23 years. O.B. was very proud to be a Conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad for over 35 years and serving as Vice President of the UTU Local 1205. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
O.B. enjoyed trail riding, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for being my sweetie pie and the love of my life. Spending time with his dad going to lunch and being at the ranch was dear to his heart. On Sunday’s he enjoyed playing Chalupa at his sister Alma’s house and never winning any money. The best dancer in the world and loved his patron on his trail rides. Always willing to help out when and wherever needed, he was a kind and big hearted man, with a smile to match.
O.B. is preceded in death by Viola G. Garcia, Mother, O.B. is survived by O.B. Garcia Sr., Father; Elizabeth Ann Garcia, Wife; Alma, Sister, Luis, Brother, Priscilla, daughter, O.B. III, son, Robin Ortiz, who he raised and loved as his own, along with Stacy and Raven Ortiz. He had 8 loving grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew; Elisa, Pete, Yvette, and their children. Numerous cousins, friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will be private.
