Mary Lou Garza (AKA Licha, Aunt Licha and Aunt Kita) was born on December 17, 1944 to parents, Sara and Jose F. Garza. She passed away on August 8, 2021. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roger R. Garza.
She is survived by brothers, Raul Garza (Alma), Frank Garza (Mary Jane); sister, Felicitas Garza Medina (Victor), wannabe sister, Rose Ann; nephews, Steve, Frank, Joseph, Michael, Alex and Gilbert; nieces, Debra, Venesa, Monica, Ronnie and Jennifer.
Mary Lou also leaves grand-nephews, Grayson, Benicio, Alex, Brandon, Steven and Abel; grand-nieces, Amber, Ellis, Miranda, Sylvia, Stephanie, Alicia, Desiree and Destiny and also her loveable “Puppy”, cats and special friends and other relatives.
Mary Lou graduated from Roy Miller High School and was employed by CCISD for over 40 years as a secretary for the Health Department. She was also a member of CESSA. Mary Lou was a special, generous person who touched many hearts along her journey.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Villa South.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Chapel service will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St.
Honorary pallbearers will be Grayson and Benicio.
The family requests that all guests wear masks.
