Mark Crider was born on January 15, 1941, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the only child of Karl Mark Crider and Clara Nell Bennet. Mark died of natural causes on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
Mark graduated from Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway High School where he was a football star. Then he attended Del Mar Junior College where he studied machining. He worked most of his life as a welder, machinist, and fishing guide. Mark was a lifelong outdoorsman - an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a small business owner - a founding partner of Corpus Christi Coatings and Machine. One of his passions in his later life was animal rescue, particularly dog rescue.
Mark is preceded in death by his son, Larry Lynn Crider; and step-granddaughter, Allison Cash. Mark is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Jones Crider of Corpus Christi; daughter, Marquetta Lee Pitts of Ingram, TX; son, Mark Steven Crider of Chesapeake, VA; half-sister, Deborah Ann Crider of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter, Cheryl Cash of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Sydney Small of New Madrid, MO, Benjamin Crider of New Madrid, MO, Megan Evans of San Antonio, TX, David Evans of Canyon Lake, TX, Alex Crider of Salt Lake City, UT, Sasha Crider, and Slohn Crider.
Visitation for Mark will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2 PM, with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
