Mario was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He served his country with the United States Army from 1954-1958 in Vietnam.
His passion was managing his ranch and hunting, and retired as a shop supervisor from Ohmstede.
He is survived by his children, Norma De La Paz, Mario Elizondo, Jr., Leo Elizondo (Valerie), Mary Lou Gonzales (Rudy) and Andy Elizondo (Sheila) ; Grandchildren, Amanda (Robert), Eric, Heraldo, Gina, Delanie, Noah, Katie, Whitley and Lexi. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
