Marian A. Atchley

Marian Atchley, age 89, of Corpus Christi, passed away on May 21, 2023. She was born December 19, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Audel Buhman; the oldest of four children. Marian came to Texas in the mid 1950’s, and met the love of her life, Burl Atchley. They were married on October 3, 1958. Marian was a homemaker all her life caring for her husband and children. She loved to sew and crochet, and also to dance.

Marian is preceded in death by her loving husband, Burl; her parents; a brother, and two sisters.

She is survived by her six children, Valerie Christensen of Orange Grove, TX, Van (Vickie) Atchley, of Houston, TX, Lynne (William) Natale of Austin, TX, Lori (David) Zacher of Corpus Christi, TX, Dale (Vicky) Atchley of Corpus Christi, TX, and Daren (Allyson) Atchley of Katy, TX. Eleven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive her.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on May 27, 2023, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, TX. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00pm. The funeral service will be from 2:00 – 3:00pm, with interment immediately following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the wonderful caregivers from Gifted Hands Private Provider Service, and the nurses and staff from Angel Bright Hospice. They took such loving and good care of our mom, and we are forever grateful to all of them.
