Maria married Daniel Villanueva on April 6, 1969, she had a passion for gardening, family gatherings, listening to music and dancing. She worked for the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
She will be lovingly remembered for always making breakfast for her grandson, dancing, singing, going to the ranch, laughing, playing family games, watching sporting events with her brothers, listening to music and bbq. She was always known for being the big sister and always being the life of the party.
Maria is survived by her daughters Irene Villanueva, Yolanda Villanueva, grandson; Daniel Villanueva, great grandson; Daniel Villanueva II, sisters; Rosa Tamez, Janie Vela, Delia Vela Garza, brother; Gilberto Vela, she is preceded in death by parents; Juan Vela Sr., Cirila Vela, sister; Sylvia Nieto, brothers; Juan Vela Jr., Guadalupe Vela, Pete Vela, and David Vela.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne, located at 549, Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78405 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Funeral Service Will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
