Maria De Jesus Salazar

Maria De Jesus Salazar entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was born Christmas Day, December 25, 1926 to Luz and Juana Torrez in Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hilario Salazar; sons, Ruben and Jose Luis Salazar; her step-daughter, Lorenza Soliz; her brother, Juan Torrez and sister, Magdalena Esparza.

She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Olga Luis (Marcos), Lydia Avila (Arturo), Mary Moreno (Julio), Angelica Salazar and Imelda Montelongo (Rey); three sons, Alfredo Salazar (Mary Lou), Lupe Salazar (Diana), and Hector Salazar; 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Maria De Jesus will be remembered for her devotion to her family and church, she will be dearly missed by all.

Honoring her as pallbearers are Oscar Luis, Chris Montelongo, Sal Soto III, Steven Salazar, Mark Rodriguez and Joe Salazar.

The family will be receiving family and friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
