Maria Concepcion Guerra Lopez

Maria Concepcion Lopez, 98, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family and close friends on February 3, 2013. She will be missed dearly by her family, relatives, and all who knew her.

Maria was born in Seguin, Texas to Plutarco Guerra and Andreita Gomez Guerra on December 8, 1914.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Manuel R. Lopez, her parents; brothers, Ricardo, Jesus, Federico, Baltazar and Antonio Guerra and two sisters, Gregoria Obiedo and Paula Olmos; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

Maria is survived by one daughter, Angelita (Mack) Alvarez; five sons, Manuel Lopez, Bernabe (Mary) Lopez, Antonio, Sr. (Ester) Lopez, Ruben (Lupe) Lopez, and Jesus Lopez; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; two special nephews, Jesus Guerra, Pedro Olmos and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Dr. Ray Acebo and Dr.George Benavides and the nurses and staff from Legacy Hospice and a very special thanks to her provider Ninfa Clark who cared for her and loved her like a mother.

Her sons, daughter and son-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
