She is preceded in death by her son, Alfredo Nieto and son-in-law, Richard Lopez.
Maria was the epitome of a beloved mother and especially grandmother. She was a constant figure in the lives of her children, grand-children, and close friends. Her grand-children can all attest to her love, out-pouring generosity, and encouragement. She gave more than tough love and advice at times, but you could always count on and rely on "wela". She will be missed and loved, and will forever live in the hearts of those who cherished her.
She leaves behind her children, Alfredo Nieto (deceased), Felipe Nieto, Augustine Nieto, Jr. (Amara), Sylvia Lopez (Richard – deceased), Yolanda Cruz (Guillermo), Willie Nieto (Carmen), Sofia Zelayandia and Ruben Nieto (Victoria Lopez); siblings, Oralia Martinez (Gregorio), Selma Camarillo (Joe Camarillo- deceased) and Jesus Rosas (Mary); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, at 8:30 a.m. A Vigil Service and a Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
