Maria Del Refugio Dávila, 97, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died October 2, 2023, at her home. She was in the presence of her loving family. She was born in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Jose and Paula Diaz.
Maria Del Refugio Dávila was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was married to the love of her life, Eliseo Dávila, one month shy of 76 years. The mother of ten children and many grand and great-grandchildren, she was the heart of the Dávila home and dearly loved!
Loving on family and friends, meditating on God’s Word, and singing praises to the Lord brought joy to her heart. Gardening, sewing, and crocheting were some of her favorite pastimes. Her love, friendship, generosity, and devotion to the family will be dearly missed! A masterful cook, everyone enjoyed visiting “Abuelita’s house,” because she lovingly offered her gift of delicious food, friendship, and hospitality. Sometimes, she just listened and fed you. Other times, if advice was needed, she would pray for you. This generosity was also extended to friends and neighbors. Her faith in God was quite evident in the way she lived. She was a faithful member of the Violet Church of God Seventh Day in Robstown, Texas.
Maria Del Refugio was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years and 11 months, Eliseo Dávila; an infant son, Jose Luis; granddaughter, Lisa Marie; her parents, Jose and Paula Diaz; her brother, Santos Diaz.
