Maria "Chayo" Rosario Lopez

Maria "Chayo" Rosario Lopez of Corpus Christi, formerly of El Campo, Texas, passed away on October 5, 2023. She was born on May 9, 1952, in Gregory Texas to Juan G. Garcia and Dolores Bazan Garcia. She was a Physical Therapy Rehab Tech and Wound Care Tech at Christus Spohn Hospital - Shoreline before becoming disabled and later retiring. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was always smiling and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Chayo is preceded in death by her parents, Juan G. Garcia and Dolores Bazan Garcia; Her in-laws, Fermin T. and Petra L. Lopez; brother, Abel "Billy" Garcia; niece, Alma Garcia, niece, Jodie Flores; and grandson, John Henry Warrenfeltz.

Chayo is survived by her husband of 53 years, Luis F. Lopez; daughters, Sandra Lopez (Richard) Quintana of Austin, Texas, Amanda Lopez (Larry Todd) Warrenfeltz of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Genoveva Labeaga, and Anita Jaramillo both of Gregory, Texas; brothers, Jeronimo B. (May) Garcia of Gregory, Texas, Juan G. (Lou Ann) Garcia Jr. of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Joseph Garcia of Corpus Christi; and grandchildren, Chelsea Schulze, Hannah Quintana, Mari Quintana, Dimitri Quintana, and Emi Warrenfeltz.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, with Rosary to be recited at 1:30 pm, Service at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow at 3:00 pm at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
