Maria Mendoza Canales

She was a loving and caring mother and father to her four children. She started her career in the 1960’s at Gates Bakery. Maria started her own business and became a Master Cake decorator. She enjoyed nature, family gatherings and her little “Nikkers” (her dogs).

She is survived by her husband, Alfredo Medina, Jr.; her only son, Michael A. Martinez (Sara); her daughters, Michelle Castellanos (Francisco, Jr.), Maricelda Robelin (David) and Veronica Canales. She loved her step-children as her own: Yvette Veltkamp, Freddie Medina, III (Dora), and Jeannette Medina. She enjoyed spending time with her 16 grandchildren and was also loved by her 5 brothers and three sisters.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel-549 Cheyenne with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Services will conclude after the funeral mass.
