He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcos Salazar, Sr. and Mercedes Salazar; brothers, Raul Salazar, Julio Salazar; Ramon Salazar and son, Daniel Salazar.
Manuel leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 56 years, Senaida Salazar; daughters, Erlinda Salazar (Samuel), Norma Villanueva (Gary) and Irene Villarreal (Abel); sons, Manuel Jr. Salazar (Imelda) , Ricardo Salazar (Christine), Edward Salazar (Priscilla), and Alexander Salazar (Cynthia). Also surviving are his sister, Aurora Moreno (Domingo) and brother, Marcos Salazar Jr. (Diana); 20 grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. January 27, 2014 at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church, 1755 Frio St. Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
