Lillie Ann Valenta passed away on December 5, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born February 10, 1936 in Moulton, Texas to Dr. Oscar A. Darilek and Lillie Mae Etlinger Darilek. Lillie Ann moved to Corpus Christi in 1954 when she married Emil C. Valenta Jr. Lillie Ann was a past president and a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered for numerous of years, each summer, at Texas Girls State. For many years she worked at Mary Carroll High School and later W. B. Ray High School until retiring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil C. Valenta Jr.; daughter, RuAnn Valenta Prewitt; son, E. C. Valenta III; and granddaughter, Tiffany Valenta. Survivors include her son, Robert Valenta; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Joyce Valenta; daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Bob Schapansky; brother and sister-in-law, Oscar A. Darilek Jr. and wife, Nora; Nine grandchildren, Shawna, Ashley, Brittnie, Brian, Kevin, Tarah, Heather, Lauren and Sarah; 9 Great Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors Chapel.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Catholic Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors Chapel
Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park
